This paper discusses the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on mortality forecasts in Brazil. Given the severe consequences of the pandemic in all aspects of society, it is likely that, after a temporary recover, life expectancy increases in Brazil will occur at a slower pace than previously forecasted.
